Purchased this scooter in March 2008. Assembly was pretty simple, mirrors, windshield and trunk was about it.
Two slight problems:
1) The radiator cap was loose. Took awhile to figure out the radiator cap was located under the cover under the seat. Radiator was topped off, cap tightened, problem solved.
2) After the above problem was fixed, engine would shut off after 1/4 mile. This went on 3-4 times until I got home. Got on the phone and called Tech service. Gentleman named Frank assisted me in troubleshooting the problem. A vacuum hose going to the carb was found pinched. I guess this happened when we were fixing the overheating problem. I cut the hose to size to keeping it from crimping. Rode the scooter for 5 miles @ 65+mph with no problems. Really good scooter for the money, great techinical service. Rating: ![]() |

This is a good looking bike. I picked it up early November 2007.
Assembly was relatively easy. There are no directions really provided, though with a little logic and common sense you will get it together. The ride is good and it \"scoots\" along at a good pace. It does require 91 octone and we are getting about 65 mpg. At 204 miles from new it would no longer start. So with about 2+ hours of diagnostic work I was able to track it finally down to a bad connector from the fuse box to the wiring harness.
If you get one of these bikes you will need to like tinkering. Replacing a simple headlight requires completely removing the front cowling. The headlights are not standard bulbs, you will not find them at any auto part store - I tried. They need to look at the ergonomics. I also needed to replace a tail light and again it required remove the rear lower cowling.
Anyway, I purchased the scooter to use with our motorhome and for my wife as I typically ride a large v-twin. Now I have been using it and it is great fun to drive!
Even with the early annoyances, we enjoy our Touring 250 and for the price it is a must have with $4 /gallon gas prices coming. Rating: ![]() |
